Everyone,
I hope this finds everyone well.

I truly need your help with something.

We are at that time of the year where I can investigate making changes to the site and implementing prior to start of the next season.
For now, the Tournament side is good to go. I just completed some maintenance on the site and made a few changes.
One change that was requested is that the list of tourneys show up all on one page instead of multiple pages. That has been accomplished, so next year, the list will be one continuous list.

Where I need your help is on the message board. Obviously the new message board has not been a hit and I am willing to make a change. However, before I purchase a new board, I would like to ask you for examples of message boards/chat rooms that you currently use and like.

Please, do not just give me suggestions of how it should look, I need examples (websites) that I can share with the developers.

Here are my thoughts. I know there is a disagreement in the field about the need to log in or not log in. I think a good example would be the Knoxville area board. When it became part of the Softballwire family, it went from a nonlogin to a login. While it maintained the same thread style, the activity on the board went way down. So, it seems obvious that some type of non login is needed.
However, I can see the other side of the argument also.

So If you do not mind, please help me out by responding the the following:
1. Please provide website examples of message boards/chat rooms that you currently use and see as successful.
2. Please let me know your thoughts on login vs non login
3. Lastly, what would be your thoughts on having both on Softballwire. I leave the login part as it is so that directors could post messages from a logged in account, but also provide a chat room that was a free for all.
Remember, you can reply to this without logging in, so please do not hesitate to share your thoughts.

I hope everyone knows that I truly want to make this site the best that it can be and provide you with everything that you want. I had to make some changes last year, but not all of those changes hit the mark.

Thank you all for your help and your support of this site.
